Surviving The Climb

Surviving The Climb

From the depths of darkness

Births a will to survive

The first act of freedom

Is surviving the climb

Stubbornly fights to rise

All forces pressing down

Final shove to daylight

Vaults blithe life above ground

Worldly glimpses at first

Endless secrets concealed

Presence goes unnoticed

Purposes soon revealed

Minuscule existence

Only witness God’s eye

Stretching beyond limits

Heaven’s angels are nigh

Warmth of life pleasant spring

Cool winds and gentle breeze

Docile bends, mellow sways

Petals extend and tease

Bright palettes dance as one

Gently nuzzled by bees

Sharing God’s elements

Creation on her knees

Afternoon rain showers

Drowning out scorching heat

Relentless summertime

Worthy foe hard to beat

Fall leans itself cool nights

Welcomed relief from burn

Naively unaware

Lurking danger near turn

Nestled deep for winter

Protected against frost

Unyielding to demise

No matter what the cost
